Christchurch rallies for Israel
Regular vigils and rallies have been held in Christchurch since the first silent vigil on 15 October. The Jewish, Israeli and Israel-friendly community are committed to gathering weekly, until the hostages are safely home.
Speech by Bobby Meyer, 3 November
I thank you for standing with us today in solidarity with Israel in her time of mourning. Your presence is truly humbling.
For those religious and political representatives here today, we acknowledge your courage and compassion.
Too often, in times of crisis, our community’s and nation’s leaders have capitulated to the side of the morally bankrupt, or hidden themselves behind sanctuary doors and declared, most especially where it concerns the safety of Israel, that this ‘issue’ does not belong on the pulpit or in the public square.
I ask, where is the outcry from the so-called social justice warriors of our nation?
Where is their voice of condemnation of these atrocities committed against this tiny democratic nation of Israel?
They should be delivering thundering speeches declaring moral outrage!
Instead, we have political representatives demanding that the Israeli ambassador be expelled from New Zealand, whilst others raise the flag of these murderers and rapists and cheer them on with glee!
They spit in the eye of God whilst wielding the bloody sword of assent.
Hamas is not a resistance movement and they are not freedom fighters - they are a death cult, and their aim is to annihilate the Jews ‘from the river to the sea’.
And those who stand with these terrorists, by their words and actions, cast the dark shadow of shame over our nation of New Zealand.
You know who these people are - and they will be remembered.
These people do not represent us. They do not speak for us. We speak for ourselves and we say, We stand in solidarity with Israel!
